Residential Care
We provide a safe and secure residential facility designed to protect vulnerable children, particularly orphans, abandoned and abused. In this environment, the children are not only sheltered from harm but are also given access to basic needs like proper nutrition and health care. Beyond their physical well-being, the residential facility serves as a nurturing space where the children can experience a sense a family, security and belonging, helping them overcome traumatic pasts and build a brighter future.
Education
We ensure that all our beneficiaries have access to quality education, either through formal schooling or specially designed alternative educational programmes tailored to their needs. Recognizing that education is a key to breaking the cycle of poverty and abuse, the organization works to ensure that no child is left behind. From primary education to opportunities for higher learning, The Potter’s Village equips children and women with knowledge and skills necessary to thrive academically and socially. We offer essential life skills, such as vocational training, financial literacy and career guidance to the children and youth to prepare them for independent living. Additionally, we empower unemployed mothers and victims of abuse to develop vocational skills they can rely on to earn a living.
Health and Wellness Services
We ensure that all our beneficiaries within the residential facilities and communities have access to timely and quality medical care. This includes regular renewal of health insurance, check-ups, vaccinations, and immediate medical interventions when needed. The Potter’s Village also promotes healthy living practices by educating the children on hygiene, nutrition, disease prevention, ensuring that they grow up healthy and mentally alert.
Youth Empowerment Initiative
We equip young people in our youth home and the community with the tools they need to thrive and live independently. Through education support, health programs, emotional guidance and counseling services, we empower youth to develop their skills, build confidence and prepare for a future of self-sufficiency. Our programs are designed not only to nurture academic and personal growth but also to instill values, resilience and the ability to contribute meaningfully to society.
Community Support Services
In response to the growing call for community-based care, The Potter’s Village has expanded its focus beyond residential support to reaching families where they live. Our goal is to prevent family breakdown and social disintegration before they happen, giving a safe, nurturing environment to thrive within their own homes and communities. We extend our services to people living in deprived communities in Accra and other parts of Ghana.
Through our programs, we provide support to vulnerable children in the community, especially those from single-parent households and families facing financial hardship. We also empower women in society by offering vocational training, educational opportunities and emotional guidance, equipping them to achieve independence and provide for their families.
Additionally, we implement our Parents’ Awareness Program, guided by the theme “It’s 8 p.m., where is your child?”. We educates families and parents on effective childcare practices. Each outreach focuses on two key areas: Sharing the Word of God and guiding parents on practical family and child raising principles that promote responsible parenting and stable homes. By addressing the needs of both children and caregivers, The Potter’s Village works to build resilient families and thriving communities. We believe that when parents are equipped and supported, fewer children will be at risk of neglect, abandonment or abuse.
